As a French citizen, I took part in protests when I was younger. However, my first real political engagement focused on environmental issues. I was particularly active during the 2019 climate protests, aiming to push world leaders to take stronger action on climate change.
I discovered Volt in a short article in Courrier International and immediately joined the Paris team, spending hours leafleting, even during the Yellow Vest protests.
My involvement also caught the attention of a national radio journalist : Radiofrance_podcasts_2019
Christine Georges and I were candidates in Nantes 2nd constituency for the 2022 legislative elections.
We ride accross town for 2 months installing 320 stickers of "Mamy Europe" and painting 90 posters.
Despite a lack of paper ballot due to an administrative error, our score was of 2,3% (1 173 votes). We raised the issue nationally and some new processes are now in place to limit any repetition of the mistake.

This time as copresident, my role was focused in the office negociations. Due to the high cost of a National campaign (800k€ needed to have ballots), we voted in Volt France to form a coalition with the center-left Parti Radical de Gauche and regionalists R&PS under the name Europe Territoire Ecologie. I had to bargain strong to make our voice heard because if our financial means were low, our militants were active and our programm strong.
Every week, I had to defend Volt interest in front of a more traditional pyramidal system. Our best efforts were not enough to make the voice of the list ETE heard as the debate was focused around 4 candidates polling above 12%. The French TV law now impose that the airtime in the media, should be proportional to already elected officials.
Throughout the campaign, I campaign on the streets of Montpellier, Toulouse, Angers, Rennes, Annecy, Le Mans, Sceaux, Paris, Tours, Bordeaux.... to reach new members and make the voice of Europe heard.
The bar to reach National coverage stays very high but we will not give up.
2022 brought Volt France some financial stability with its first small subsidy used to the EP campaign, to hire administrative and communication short-term contract. But 2024 dissolution of the Assembly meant we had to prove again our value. The subsidy is proportional of the number of vote.
In haste, from Monday evening national call to Friday morning submission to the printers, we organised with the board 22 campaigns while respecting our key values :
vote to confirm the members preference to participate in this tense context
a common federalist programm, thanks to the amazing French policy team
internal commity votes to vet every pair of candidates
a common communication under "The European Front"
My campaign was limited and short as I had National duties and could not delay my honeymoon more than a week. But we still secured a higher subsidy than 2022 and made the regional news :

Our pair scored 1,2% with 786 votes, the best score of Volt in France, outside of French leaving abroad.
Despite the difficulty to be heard accross the Macron - New Popular Front - National Front trio that resulted in the most divided Assembly in French recent history.
