Making a lifetime commitment a fantastic adventure
Far from being a source of fear, this engagement was, for me, an obvious step : being formally and legally united with the woman who has shared my life for the last 13 years.
Organizing such an event while managing house renovations, a legislative campaign, and daily work was no easy. Yet all this coordination, along with every little detail, was filled with joy.
Even more, when we could express our personalities to the maximum.
Not the traditional wedding
We hoped to create a moment suspended in time… straight out of a Jules Verne novel.
As Steampunk enthusiasts, we wanted to take our guests on a journey into a world of mechanics, childhood movies, and inventions. We designed themed decorations and accessories, making the most of our weekends and countless second-hand shop discoveries. We also handcrafted many elements ourselves, from models to charming terrariums.
A few briefings were needed to bring everyone on board and keep the motivation alive. Our goal was to stay creative while keeping our feet firmly on the ground.
A big step forward
My wedding taught me many things, but one lesson will always stay with me : with the right person by your side, every challenge makes the journey even more meaningful. With careful planning, everyone came on board and sailed with us through an enchanted weekend that brought generations together.
One does not simply ignore the rings !
How could we make these cherished rings a true reflection of who we are ? By forging them ourselves ! With the guidance of an experienced silversmith, we transformed simple silver grains into unique pieces of jewelry.
A lovely honeymoon... disrupted by politics
After our wedding in May, I became French co-president in September. I also took part in organizing the Volt Europa Paris GA and focused on the European elections until June 2024.
As we finally caught our breath on the Sunday of the election, we packed our tent and bags and set off for our Scandinavian honeymoon, planned without taking a plane.
We were not expecting much from the EP2024 results, as the French system has its flaws and we had not achieved the breakthrough we had hoped for. Just two hours into the drive, the news broke: Macron had dissolved the French National Assembly, announcing legislative elections to be held within two weeks.
Our trip was postponed, and my wife had to start the journey alone, while I joined her in Copenhagen a week later.
Because my commitment remained firm, I returned to Nantes to register my candidacy and support 22 campaigns across France.

Despite everything happening around us, my Beloved-AsCrazyAsMe-understanding wife and I held on to our goal of visiting the Lofoten Islands and enjoying their breathtaking scenery.
As two history and engineering enthusiasts, we explored several UNESCO sites, including a Viking archaeological museum, the Falun copper mine, and even the biggest iron ore mine LKAB !
I would never dream of another life : making our own path in a changing world.
